Forest of Piano Vol. 5 (Kodansha, 2018)

This is a story about a piano, pitifully abandoned in the woods, and a young boy, Kai, who grew up playing it as his favorite toy. Although Kai can't even read sheet music, Kai enters his first piano competition, where he dazzles the audience with his performance. However, the judges are not so understanding and ultimately eliminate him from the running, an experience which drives a wedge between him and piano as a whole. Regardless, the piano in the forest sits ever quiet, awaiting his hand.
