About This Issue

Conan of Cimmeria -- dubbed the 'Savior of Poitain' for his valor against the invading Zingarins -- is summoned to Tarantia to stand before King Numedides. Paraded amonth the Aquilonian elite as the king's newest trophy, Conan finally meets with the 'Mad King' in private, where Numedides speaks of dark visions and of the "WOEFUL EYE now awakened." Later, before the court, Numedides abruptly declares his intentions to wage war against Zingara, with Conan leading the strike. But Conan speaks against the king, calling the plan foolish, and is quickly branded a traitor before being thrown into the dungeons. That night, assassins come for the Cimmerian, but Conan cuts them down before Prospero arrives to help him escape the castle and the city. Conan's unjust imprisonment and sudden branding as a traitor send ripples across the realm, stirring the people to action. The Mad King has gone too far, and across Aquilonia the torch of revolution has been lit...
